WTF Art History: Bernini Up Close → wtfarthistory.com

wtfarthistory:

Whenever one encounters a work by Bernini, the only reaction can be awe. How the f’ck did he so masterfully carve marble to appear as flesh? Even his few paintings and drawings breath a life of their own. Enjoy some close up shots of his many works in the Galleria Borghese in Rome.

Maybe she is.

Thank you, Ms. Carter!

watson as the hobbit?

nickbones89:

guiltyhousewife:

So I just saw the preview for The Hobbit when I went to see Dark Knight Rises today and my thought process upon seeing this image was:

“OMG THEY GOT WATSON TO PLAY BILBO?”

and, not soon after,

“OH NO WATSON, SHERLOCK WILL NEVER FUCK YOU NOW, YOU’RE A HOBBIT.”

On a related note, am I the only one hoping there is a tall, fair skinned but raven-locked elf with a penchant for solving mysteries that takes a shinning to Bilbo?

Sarah, Cumberbatch is playing the voice of Smaug in the Hobbit.

Calm those feels, Sarah-chan.

Also, The Nick Todd will appreciate this: Mitchell from Being Human is playing a Dwarf.
